As we celebrate National Black Business Month, it’s essential to recognize and honor the incredible contributions of Black entrepreneurs and business leaders who are driving positive change in our communities. This month, we are proud to highlight the work and impact of some of our esteemed clients: My Black Doctor, A James Global Services, Community Connections Transportations, and Alexis George Wines. Each of these organizations embodies excellence, innovation, and a deep commitment to serving their communities.
My Black Doctor Directory
Empowering Health and Wellness in Black Communities
Dr. Jones, the visionary behind My Black Doctor Directory, has dedicated his life to improving healthcare access and outcomes for Black communities. Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Dr. Jones has an impressive educational and professional background, including degrees from Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He completed his residency at Howard University Hospital and a fellowship at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Jones is not only a distinguished surgeon but also a passionate advocate for health equity. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he created the “Ask A Black Doctor Series,” providing valuable information and resources through educational webinars and media appearances. His commitment to mentorship is evident through his S.H.A.D.O.W. PROGRAM and PRE-MED SOLUTIONS business, which supports and guides underrepresented pre-med students.
My Black Doctor Directory, founded by Dr. Jones, offers a comprehensive listing of Black healthcare professionals in metro Atlanta. This portal aims to improve health outcomes by connecting Black patients with culturally sensitive Black doctors. Studies show that Black patients have better health results when cared for by Black doctors, making this directory an invaluable resource.
A James Global Services
Excellence in Facilities Management
Dino A. James, CEO of A James Global Services, Inc., has extensive experience in facilities management. With over 30 years of expertise, Mr. James has successfully managed real estate, marketing, construction, and property management projects for government agencies. His commitment to excellence is reflected in the highest CPARS ratings he has received for Department of Defense projects.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. James is dedicated to community service. Through the Darlington County Community Action Agency, he provides guidance and support to young people. He also established the Dino James Scholarship for students at South Carolina State University College, where he serves on the College of Business Advisory Board.
To better serve its clients, Badie Designs refreshed the AJGS website with a modern, responsive design, clearer content, and engaging visual elements. The new website effectively communicates the company’s services and showcases their impressive portfolio.
Community Connections Transportations (CCT)
Transforming Paratransit Services
Since 2015, Kimber Saint-Preux has been on a mission to redefine paratransit services with CCT. Inspired by her grandmother’s experience with government-funded transportation, Kimber created a solution that addresses the disproportionate supply and demand in local transit. CCT provides compassionate, qualified employees who build meaningful relationships with the individuals they transport.
Community Connections Transportations partners with the STAR network to offer seamless transportation coordination services. These services are provided by certified operators who ensure safe, affordable, and reliable transportation for mature adults and those who are transportation-disadvantaged.
To distinguish CCT from its sister company, STAR Transportations, Badie Designs developed separate brand identities and websites with updated aesthetics, and user-friendly designs. The new websites enhance brand awareness and effectively communicate each company’s unique offerings.
Alexis George Wines
A Legacy of Excellence and Mentorship
George Brown, founder and Principal of Alexis George Wines, brings a rich history of dedication and passion to the wine and spirits industry. Born in South Philadelphia to a young single mother, George’s early experiences instilled a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. His journey from busboy to sommelier, then renowned food and beverage professional, is a testament to his determination and talent.
Throughout his career, George has been a champion for mentorship and education. Inspired by the mentors who helped him succeed, he now focuses on creating scholarships and mentorship programs for children from humble beginnings. His belief in the transformative power of education drives his philanthropic efforts.
Badie Designs created a custom website for Alexis George Wines, showcasing the brand’s offerings, George’s foundation, recipes, and a store locator. The website reflects the company’s commitment to quality and community engagement.
